DOG  BREED  SELECTION & DOG  PRE-PURCHASE  ADVICE

Many dogs get put down each year due to impulse buying and people's lack of knowledge of which type of dog breed would suit their family, house and backyard space and lifestyle. So few people may find it too hard if the dog didn't turn out the way they expected at first and give them up in the end. Very sad, specially because this situation could have been avoided if only the right advice was provided in the early stages of searching for the right pet dog. Some dog breeds are very active and may need a lot more exercise then you initially thought or may have time to provide, so planning for the arrival of that special pet may pay off on the long run since the average dog lifespan is around 12 years. Each dog brings characteristics of what their breed was bred to do, it's how they are wired, part of the package. Obviously dog training helps a great deal but the more you know about the dog breed before you get it the better. And nothing like speaking to someone who can really help you. The internet can provide a lot of information but can't see and check the way you live, can't give you some precious feedback that an experienced dog trainer can.

Choosing the right DOG - PUPPY for You & Your Family:

Taking into account your:

  • Present Lifestyle
  • Busy working conditions
  • Time constraints to exercise the Dog
  • Size of backyard
  • Number of Family members in the family
  • Your personal Preferences
  • Dog breed suitable to have around Children
  • Level of Mobility eg: an elderly person with a walking frame would find hard to exercise a working dog like the Border Collie

The average lifespan of a Dog is around 10- 12 years.
